Does the VFR 800 fire like a twin

I've recently acquired a 2005 VFR 800 abs with 5k miles, the thing is it sounds like a twin, could it be mis-firing or do they sound like that? my last bike a couple of years ago was a fireblade, and when you grabbed an hand full you'd all on to keep the front end down, where as this one doesn't until the vtec kicks in and then it gets a bit lively .
