Does anyone know the diamters of the VFR 800 ('98~ish) and the VFR750 (91~95ish) eccentric carriers?

I'm trying to find out how much bigger then 800 carrier is than the 750. I'm entertaining the possibility of turning the 800 assembly down to fit the 750 swingarm.

The same generic reasons anyone wants to know this stuff lol. I'm putting a VFR arm on another bike.

I have an entire 800 on hand, but it's pivot width is insane for anything except a few hondas (particularly some VFR's, obviously). I need to run a narrower swingarm pivot and am looking at early 90's swingarms to do it. I would really like to be able to just buy another swingarm and use the rotating assembly I have to make it all work. Biggest reason behind that is that I want to use that VFR800 wheel as it matches my GSXR's front wheel and I have been told this wheel will not fit the 750 assembly without modification.

Ok, I forgot aboot the late model wheels not being notched oot for bolt heads. If your willing to spin down the later model eccentric the modification to the wheel is nothing really. Just my two pennies.

It's a consideration to go either way...but I am trying to make sure I understand all my options.

Okay well there's 10mm difference between the 750/Hawk/etc eccentric and the 800 eccentric...too much for me to consider safe to mill off. So I started looking at swapping components from the 800 to the 750/hawk eccentric and I found these measurements for the spindles:

The diameters match, but the 800 shaft is a longer than the 750. Could I simply offset the length on one side or the other of the eccentric with a spacer to correct the length difference?

Not sure of the diameter, but you can't use it in the 750 arm. The 750 arm is narrower & the hub uses an external bearing to get the sprocket alignment for the chain, the 800 is wider & the bearing is internal. If you could fit it in the 750 arm you would have to play with getting the alignment right & find away to keep that when you adjust the chain !

There is a listing on a site somewhere with all the various SSSA sizes, search for "SSSA DIAMETER"

I'm talking about using the 800 spindle and rotating mass in the hawk/750 eccentric. Is that what you're talking about? I can't figure out what bearing differences you're talking about.

And don't forget that the VFR is not the only SSSA. Ducati and Triumph all have one, so maybe one of those will work.

And don't forget the VFR400 series, as well.

A 400 would have been fantastic, but none to be found. Ducati is very wide and topside shock setup...I can make that work but don't want to have to make a bunch of brackets to do it. Triumph is too wide as well, but it's still be second choice if I can't make the 750/800 setup work...I'll just spend a fortune getting a matching wheel setup.

I'm leaning toward the VFR because it's the best option right now.

Sorry your post title said eccentric & by that I thought you meant the whole bearing carrier.
What I'm saying is if you look at the 750 carrier, the left bearing sticks out on a stub moulding, the 800's is inside the eccentric ! They both use the same bearings, but the width of the eccentric carrier is very different.
