    Hi Everybody,

    New Guy Here.

I have been a long time BMW rider (K1600 GTL). I have lost 130 lbs and am now a svelte 180lbs. I found a 2007 VFR, anniversary paint job ()no ABS) with 1,500 miles, $6,500.

    Two questions.

    1. Good deal?

    2. Will I like riding it compared to my luxo-tourer?

    Thanks!!

    RAM

RAM-- Is it a private seller or dealer selling the bike. Personally I think that you could get the bike for a cheaper price. Low miles yes, but that tells me that it hasn't been ridden. Was it properly stored? There is a local guy here that has an 07 with just over 900 miles on it and he is trying to sell it for 9K, panniers as well... ridiculous if you ask me. Yes its an anniversary edition, but how much weight does that have on the resale if any? Will you like an 07 VFR? I would tell you Hell yeah, but I don't have anything to compare too, all I have owned are VFR's and they are AWESOME!!! Your K1600 GTL is a Cadillac and if that its what you are looking for, you may be disappointed, but if your looking for a sportier ride with the option to tour you''ll be in heaven. Find one and Ride it, then make the call. Cheers...

The VFR is a very good sport-touring bike, but is more slanted toward the sport side, which works perfectly for me. For a 2007 RWB with that kind of mileage, I think the price is fair. Last October, I saw 3 of them sell on eBay, all with 6K miles or less, in that price range. Assuming the bike is like new and properly maintained, I think the seller will get it.

Graften. Not too far from me. I looked at a 07 rwb in sheboygan a while back. 1 owner, 8000 mi. All ready to go. New tires, oil and fluids done. $5300. It's been for sale for a couple months.

You can research the prices yourself on Craig's List and Flea Bay, but that price seems OK. As far as rideability, the VFR is a "sporty" sport-tourer and perhaps the smoothest motorcycle I have ever ridden. The power will be way down from what you're riding now, but HP/torque isn't the whole story, right? The VFR has a transmission, and I use mine a lot to keep pace with friends who ride more powerful bikes. That just adds to the thrill of riding for me.

If you like corners, the VFR is great! And at 180 lbs, the stock suspension will be adequate for you. The shock isn't all that great and the forks have only preload adjustment, though there are cheap suspension mods if you want to unlock the motorcycle's potential.

All in all, although there are other terrific sport-tourers out there, I love my VFR and will never part with it.
