I am having a hard time understanding how to navigate this site. I just purchased an '86 VFR 750 for $550. It did not run but the compression was 150 psi on each cylinder. It has an oil leak at the clutch cover. Owner said it appeared after he tried to investigate the ignition pickup by removing the cover. Every piece of the fairing is damaged in some way. Rear tail light assy with side extension is broken into three parts. The grab handle for passenger is gone. Other than that everything is perfect, I wish. I am looking for a repair manual for this model. I tried to download a manual from someone in this group, but had no luck. Group looked so interestnig I joined anyway.
Story of my purchase is tied to fact that my son bought an 84 Vf 500 F a day or two before me. He got me interested. he paid $1400 for an 84 Vf500. Kids, what can you do?
I would appreciate any help with a manual. I need one for my sons 500 as well. I know I am going read what you guys have to say about repair/replace fairings. I don't know how to get around the site yet, but what I have seen is great. Thanks

welcome to the site, sorry that you have having trouble navigating

I would try downloading the manual from this vfr website: VFRD - vfrdiscussion home. Once you register you can download the manual. When you log in, go here: Downloads. Just keep in mind VFRWorld is the fun VFR website, that still has good info

    Tried both

I tried to log onto the vfrd. I registered/became a member after I had tried to download the 90's manual. when I went to vfrd they had me log in. But no matter how many times I tried to log on to vfrd site I was always told that my name/address and password were unrecognized. I could not get to the "downloads" menu. I can't figure it .
