This little bad luck streak of mine is really starting to fuckin piss me off... First my truck gets hit & run yesterday and now this.

Been on my ass all day after getting a nasty spinal injection yesterday, & after getting to the point where I couldn't possibly take any more NCIS I decided to go for a little jaunt. It didn't end well. Taking a right hand turn I went over a new reflective white paint crosswalk and my front wheel washed out. Over 50 degrees, and the roads are bare and dry, but I went back to check and something on the crosswalk paint was slippery... To make things even better USAA only covers liability on bikes- so I gotta pay out of pocket for this. I'm so fuckin mad I could shake a baby. Now I can't even go for a ride to unwind- gotta wait til taxes to fix this, which means she's parked for 6 to 8 weeks FML... I'm not sure I even want this thing anymore now that it's all fucked up. I might just sell it & be done

    Sorry about your off, 82.

It would probably be more economically feasible to fix it than to try to sell it for any type of reasonable return on initial investment. If I had to make a wag, my estimate would be around $1800 for new OEM components, what is it worth in it's current condition? That is the problem with the 6g, they aren't worth very much if you sell and the plastics and cosmetic bits are expensive to replace when they are damaged. Those anniversary plastics might not be too easy to come by....

You could buy chopstick tech body bits or mess around with repairing the rashed stock bits, but you will still need to acquire an OEM clutch cover/gasket, bar end and lever, a couple matching black OEM mirrors and a brake pedal......still gonna cost around $1500.00 with paint and body work or you can always camp out on ebay for the next two years hoping for below cost bits to be auctioned. Only you can decide the next course of action.

You'll be thinking more clearly after you have a chance to really think about it. Good luck with whatever it is you decide to do.

Sorry to hear about the crash, I narrowly avoided crashing on an oil spill the other day. Bikes repairable, and with the addition of a mirror looks rideable, scratches just add character (least that's what I claim my scratches are...)

    Truly does suck.

    DO NOT SELL IT!!!!

Rash is no big deal, it takes a while to get over the suck factor, but the bike is still in running condition.
You can ride without a mirror for a bit. The parts can be replaced as you go. Bar ends and levers can be had fairly cheaply. Watch ebay for the brake pedal and other parts. Save up for the plastics.

But a drop in a corner is not worth chunking the whole deal. She has miles and miles of fun left in her.

So I finally fell asleep about 4 this morning after hunting down all the shit I need to unfuck this. Between ePrey and Honda it might not be as bad as I originally thought, but it's still gonna be parked for a while.

    Right side engine cover: $217
    Brake Pedal: $80
    7 Decals: $130
    bar ends: $20
    Levers: $50
    China Mirrors: $50

+ body work and paint at whatever shop I can find to do a decent job. The headlight cowl and right fairing are a grand new, and these are just scratched except for a minor frack around 1 mounting hole on the fairing, so I think I can get these fixed for a lot less. Thank god the tank didn't get damaged- I guess mabey I got lucky...

21 years on bikes and this was my first wreck, so I'm glad I not only walked- but RODE away. Couple of sctatches, and I'll need some new pants is all...

STILL fuck'n pisses me off though. Now instead of having a little play money next month I'll be doing repairs...

TC- Thanks bro. I sent you a text a minute ago, so hit me back when you gave a chance.

If anyone has parts to sell I could really use a deal on a black right side engine case cover...

With a little bit of rest, equalization of adrenalin levels, and clarity of thought......I am relieved to see that you have decided to fight through it, instead of throwing in the towel. I know you will get her all polished up again. Keep your head up, it eventually happens to even the best.

Sorry to hear about the drop. The important thing is you are able to vent the way you have. Now vent a whole lot more, have a beer, sleep on it a few days and as money and time permits, fix the beach and ride. This is the correct thing to do.

The upper, the two spots are what looks like where tie down rubbed through the paint above the right mirror mount. Other than that it is cherry.

    I didn't do a PLF- I did a PFL!!

ANywhoo..... Toe's got boxes to hunt down in the next couple of weeks...:bravo::party2::bravo:

I still need a clutch cover though, and a blue tail cowl that aint beat-to-shit would be cool too...
I'll just have mine fixed If I don't find a deal on a decent used one though. Regardless, I've decided to keep all my take-offs and either get-em fixed slowly as time & $$$ allow, or just let them collect dust in the attic til someone else needs them more than I do.

I'll order the bar ends, levers, and a mirror at the same time I square up with Toe, and as for the Brake pedal- I'll just keep stomping on the present ground off nub until a used one surfaces cause I sure aint forkin out $80 bones for a fuggin pedal....

...All goes well & I'll have her lookin less & less like a practice girl by the middle of next month! :party2:

"Two bit"... COME-ON BRO! Live a little- Spend at least a buck!

Well, it's not have you crashed it yet its when is it going to happen ??? Had a beautiful Ducati 900SS 1994 and a buddy said hey I'm not working today so how bout I take your wheels down and have the tires swapped out . Shit, sounded great. So I get home and my right sides all scraped up . Very good rider but never rode a Duc, pulled out of his driveway, slimmy tire and all , pitched it sideways after giving it a little to much gas ans got spit over the bars . Needless to say it really didnt take to much to have everything painted again and replace some parts but was so pissed and upset that it was never going to be the same bike so I FUCKING SOLD IT !!!!!!! . The biggest mistake of my life-EVER-So have some MORE beers and fa get a bout it. YOU will never forgive yourself EVER. JMO
