if you have a ready made answer as you have already done the research please answer here...

short of paying $5k for a turbo (not me) is there any way of dramatically increasing the hp on an 01 vfr800?...seriously...I love the ride and it scoots when I need it to but man I wish there were 20 more ponies under the hood...

I've had the bike for a year and it has just over 15k miles on it...i'm looking for a nice liter bike and will most likely keep the vfr as it is just such a nice ride...and please don't throw a tomato at your screen for having read this question for the 20th or 50th time, it will miss me and you will have to clean it off your screen...thanks...zp...

Yes this has been discuse again not to long ago, the answer is NO, the answer you will get is go get yourself a Hagabusa or Ducati :pound:
You can install PCIII or V, loose some weight on you and the bike, drop the grearing (-1 front and +2 rear)
Is the 1200 enough for you?

    How much ??

How much would you pay for each additional hp ?? $100, $200 ??

Be real, a VFR is just as fast as any prudent adult rider can use, and anything more is just juvenile excess.

Zingpow if you "dramatically increased the horsepower" of your VFR what would happen to reliability?

Your plan of keeping your VFR & adding a liter bike is a great idea.
