So in my mild restoration of my 86 vf500f, I've come a ways so far. I've restored and replasticized the tail piece, Found both side covers in original colors, new signals and upper stay, and i'm still under $150!!! So...My huge payment of $212.00 US dollars for a restored gas tank was just that...HUGE!!!!!!! It's PERFECT!!! or at least it was. Does anyone know how to scallop a tank? One side already is! !!!!!!*#%@*!!!!!! That is all that describe my frustration. The tank took a hard hit in shipping denting the one side in about an inch and cracking the paint. ALSO, it took out the decal on the right side which just happens to be the one disco'd by honda...not the left, oh no, the right. Sigh.
Does anybody have a decent 86 tank in original color? lol.:mad::mad::mad::kaboom:
