    So. Got the carb structure cleaned ( evertything i could take off was off besides the main bodies), road it last night, came back, idling, smoke from somewhere, oil dripping;
    FROM THE EXHAUST JOINT.

    And now i just need to wait around until I have the time, space, or money to check it up.

    and then theres a fuel leak somewhere. so, crap.

    Prefer the intake joint, ya know, man ?? Won't take the politicos outa Warshington and the bitch outa wimmin but makes it slightly more tolerabler.

    But buck up, my goods lad ! Grab a beverage! I'd rather have one non-running '86 700 VFR sitting in my garage than a dozen fancy Harleyz or a thousand o' them fugly Viragos !! Wimmin, angry wimmin !!

    NEVER a good idea to put freshly-cleaned carbs back on until the fuel tank has been drained and refilled with NEW fuel first. +.:biggrin-new: :grief: Drain tank into DOT-approved flame-proof bucket, and plan on cleaning the tank and coating if you see much rust. I guess it's macho to ignore fuel leaks, but bikes can seriously burn into the ground, as i proved once.*

    * Long story. Never mind, it was only a Yamaha Virago, customer's bike !! Whoops, and i jump on my VFR and ride quickly, unobtrusively-- b4 the BOSS knew-- AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Evidence was destroyed, was it somethin i did or defect in the bike that hadn't been ridden for 12 years and this was its first ride ??? It caught me bluudy pants on FIRE before i bailed off. I had it idling in back of the shop for 5 or 6 minutes b4 i ventured aboard ! Forensick testes were never made but thankfully, we'll never know, but i work more carefuller now, i hope.

    Fire department with 2 big engines showed up 5 minutes after i exited the scene ! Never charged with arson, but i knew i'd get FIRED (lol) with some lame excuse. Inshoiance covered it's $900 supposed worth. Never talked to boss again. pPlease don't call me "Sparky".
