So I've noticed from the get go the little LCD display that has all the info one might need being for the most part hidden behind the brake MC, This bugs the H outa me. At first I didn't think it would be a big deal. Coming from the 4th gen where the dash layout is simple and easy to read, this 5th gen not so much. Yea I get my ride height may play into this, but I find myself for example to check mileage, I need to do a visual dance to read it. which takes your eyes off the road, again not to big a deal, but. It doesn't help that it is all ready hard to read/see due to the lighting condition that shows up most of the time, seeing light grey numbers on a silver back ground is all ready tricky enough for the quick glance, now throw in some sun, reflections of sorts etc. Now moving to night time thinking the back lit would help, pff not so much. that said It's pretty disappointing with this part of the VFR, again less is more IMO. The 4ths dash is way easier to get along with. That and those button resets are not all that glove friendly either. ok I feel better.

    Due for an eye exam?

Less is less and more is more. Less is more and more is less is BS.. Unless SOW math is being employed.

Nope. I'm 6' so it could be a height angle thing. bigger issue I should have stated is the angle when the sun light hits it right for the most part makes it next to impossible to read, this happens more than I would have thought. when sitting on the bike it's easy to read but when riding it's like Hmm? The Brake MC thing isn't a big deal. just gets in the way once in a while. I'm wondering now if there are different light bulbs available, say leds in white that would liven this up? it's not much better at night either.
