Hmm.. I'd say its just everything. The motor weighs about 175lb and the frame is steel.

Driving a 1st gen interceptor is like driving an 80's camaro... It looks and sounds cool but thats about it

honestly, Im not looking to make this a 400 pound bike. But I am making it a street fighter. So if there is a way to save weight then I would. Im going to start with the wheels. I figured I could save a good bit of weight there. And then it will be a bobbed bike. That wont save a whole bunch but some

Stock exhaust with collector is heavy as well as the mufflers. Yes wheels, overflow bottle w/it's fluid, fuel pump. Not sure if gravity feed will work adequately. Use a smaller battery, 530 chain and sprockets. Can go 520 size. Center stand, stock turn signal/housings/mounts & rear bar, cut the back half of the peg brackets. Rear brake pieces parts can be a lot smaller, don't need rear brakes. Glass headlite, see if you can find a plastic one.

Oh yea put Helium in the tires. It makes balloons float......................

Again, Im not tring to make this bike as light as the new ones. Im just tring to find out where excess weight is And seeing what I can change to save weight. Ill get some scales and let yall know the overall weight full of fluids and then what it will be afterwards. Also how much weight from front to back. Should be interesting

I'd start with salad for lunch and try and fit a banana into your daily schedule as well. Stay with it as best you can, a diet is sometimes as hard as quitting smoking.

On a serious note, be careful how much weight you remove as far as front or back goes. These bikes come from the factory balanced pretty damn close to 50/50 for a reason, handling. You change the distribution you also change the dynamics of how the suspension is going to handle. Realistically, i'm probably wrong and it isn't going to really affect the bike enough to be dangerous.

Start with the center stand exhaust aftermarket battery different rear shock anything that doesn't impede the bike from running and drive I would remove.

The best mod you can do to a bike is make it lighter just think the lighter the bike the more power to weight you have.

Thats what my thinking was. I know performance parts are far and few between for the 1st gens. So I figured I might as well make the most out of the power. But realistically, this bike is just going to be a toy bike in the mountains. Probably wont see any track time of any sort.

Absolutely.. Another huge benefit is to lighten your rotating mass on the rims. Aluminum sprocket, lighter rotors, magnesium rims. It's amazing how much MORE hp a bone stock bike with magnesium rims, a 520 chain conversion from stock 530 and aluminum sprocket will put to the ground, compared to another bone stock bike with stock wheel, chain, and sprocket. Engine produces same horsepower, but the bike with lighter rotating mass puts MORE of that horsepower to the ground. Unfortunately you're gonna spend a lot of money on a set of Marchesini racing rims :p

Yes of course.....but as he's only going to using it for a weekend warrior id say put the fat girl on a diet. I would like to add the cbr wheel conversion would be lighter than the stock wheels and will unlock a ton of tire choices.

Most likely IM going to be puling a triple and a swing arm combo from a ducati or something down the line. so that will Lighten the swing arm and open me up to lighter rims and more tire choices. I just havent doen enough research to decided which bike it will all come from
