Another squid bites the dust? I know absolutely nothing about the bikes owner but most people I see with paint jobs like that ride in tank tops and shorts. You definately have alot of work ahead of you. Looking forward to your progress pics.

I don't think it was one of the "worst bikes ever made" but I do agree with Keager about it being a waste of time. My 04 Tuna is a pretty sexy bike after much $$$ and painful labor hours in the garage. It sounds great with a Two Brothers slip on and it makes a decent "daily driver". That said, I think its worth about 2500 bucks on a good day. I decided to take the Tuna to the track in Louden last year to see how she would run...well, nothing but disappointment. She had enough power to get me around the track and actually held he own on the front straight, but the brakes gave up quick and the stock suspension gave up shortly after. It's been a reliable rider,,but that's it, that's all and nothing else.

Bothering with it cause it's a bike for a guy's wife after he upgraded to a BlackBird. And if I can make it a bit cooler and make a few $ all the better.
    One weekend in on it....

so maybe not the worst bike ever made, but as far as sport bikes go, they defiantly are in that list.

I still wanna keep watching the progress on the old Tuna. Anything that rides is worth a few weekends in the garage. Nothing feels better than to bring old junk back to life. I'd be interested in what the $investment$ is in this little project is.

i think the bandit is pretty similar. I always liked the naked retro looking bandit with the chrome mirrors and such. I wanted it for my first street bike but ended up with a yamaha seca 2 which is pretty close....

I just came up with a brilliant idea. Can your daughter get some explosives from the Army base?

The $ invested in this thing so far is about $15 in a can of fiberglass. Add to that whatever it end up costing me in paint. The tail was in my "spare" stuff on a shelf off an old Honda FT500. The rest is just my time and I enjoy the challange of the IMO UGLY Katana. After priceing out new plastics all around and all the missing and bent to hell mounting brackets it's going to cost the owner a fraction of just fixing it back to stock.
