    UPDATED: Check for more pics!

I got a 2000 VFR800 that had been wrecked in the front end. Im making it into a Reverse Trike, but I still wanted to make use of the gauges for simplicity sake. You can see from the pictures what I had to work with. After a lot of frustration, I just ended up mounting them on a piece of plastic. Havent got the whole lighting situation worked out yet. Figured if I did some night triking, I would just have the girl sittin next to me hold a flashlight or something.

Heres the build and more pictures of the gauges, and the whole thing:

Do you guys have any suggestions for what I could do? I was going to try to use the original bezel to cover everything, but thats cracked and missing a few pieces.

Heres what I've been thinking about. I lost the piece of clear plastic that goes behind the gauges to disperse light, so cut new ones, and put in some LEDs behind em. To keep the light from going outside, just enclose each gauge with its own cylindrical pod. I dont mind seeing the circuit board of the info center, so Im not too worried about that, just gotta put 2 LEDs to give it some lighting. My boss at the shop said it would look like the "robo" mod.

Dont even know if these things work, but figured that since I cant find a good set for under like 200 bucks, I'll see what I can do. Saving money is the name of the game. Worst case scenario, I know the info cluster works, which is really the only thing Im worried about. I was looking into universal digital gauges that I've put on dirtbikes and race bikes before. Something like these for everything but the stuff on the info center.

Koso Digital Gauges for motorcycles, snowmobiles and cars. Tachometer, race bike, roadbike, dirtbikes it works with them all. Koso gauges are quality. - Koso Gauges for motorcycles, snowmobiles and cars

Although you guys gave me some pretty good suggestions, I tried something else. I ended up getting some PVC, trimming it to fit the gauge face, then getting some Lexan. The Lexan replaced the plastic behind the gauge to disperse the light, and also acts as a shield in front of the gauge to protect it. Turned out pretty good, I think. Hope the gauges actually work...

Pics in first post. Still gotta figure out something for the info cluster

Looks like it worked pretty well. You'll be able to move them around to fit where you like a lot better with that setup. Id everything still working? Generally I like the tach top middle since that's what I'm used to, but I suppose it really depends on personal preference. Are you using the stock fuel tank and sending unit so you have fuel info? will you have have the other parts to synch up the temp, odo, etc? I don't even know where the speedo sensor is on my VFR. I guess I never really thought about it until wondering how you are doing it with a reverse trike?

I dont know if everything works entirely yet. From the looks of it, the tach and info cluster were untouched, but the speedo was hit. I will have to see if everything still works. I do like the pods so that I can move it around if necessary.

I am not using the stock fuel tank, but I am using the stock sending unit and level sensor. I am making a fuel cell out of aluminum, and gonna keep the same orientation of the sensor so that everything functions as it should.

As far as the other stuff on the info cluster, nothing else has changed on the bike, so they should all work. The only thing Im doing with the electronics is relocating them so that I dont have to have a tail over the rear tire. I believe the speedo sensor is coming from the tranny, although I havent traced it yet. I gotta make the roller bars, then Im hooking the bike up to the front frame.

If you got any more questions or comments, let me know. I love to talk about this thing and get more input and suggestions.
