Ok my bike horn is out and I think the button went too. I have this 3 air horn thing that I took off a jeep cherokee a while back. It comes with a little electric air compressor. I was wondering if I install the horns right between the forks on the fairing and ran the compressor hose to the back and mounted the compressor somewhere back there. And a simple button to the handle bars would that make it gaudy and all? I think with a little squeezing I could get the horns under the fairing if I remove the old horn. What do you think?

It is as loud as a train. That would depart from the normal horns for bikes.

I'd say be careful of your amp loads. Running that compressor is certainly more draining than the stock horn. Run your switch to a relay and the fused load off the batt. I think it'd be the cats ass if it's Buick loud but concealed.

haha yeah the more I think about it, the cooler it would probably be, assuming it works.

my horn is really quiet, I can't even hear it at freeway speed

Its a small but loud setup. I broke one of the horns and I can fix it but with only 2 it makes a huge sound. I will get a pic up so you can see the setup soon. The compressor is about the size of the fuel pump (can of soda) the horns are 6 inches long or so. They are mounted on a bracket that is held in place with a couple bolts. I think that it would fit under the fairing but I haven't tried yet. I need a line on the right kinda button. It has to be cool looking easily mounted, and able to handle a load. (if I don't/can't use a relay)

It works. I hooked it up to the bikes battery and it sounded good. It might even be louder with the bike running.

Cadillac horns. I forgot about those. But that is pretty close to what this one sounds like.

There are quite a few, very loud, compact electric horns availible now adays. 120 - 130db, which are much easier to mount on a bike

But will any of them make a cage think there is an 18 wheeler behind them? Then again, scaring them might prove to be more of a problem...

Here is some pictures of the air horn. I broke the adapter that plugs into the horn so I need to get some more plus some hose, and I need a relay and a button that will fit on the handle bars or near the old horn button that doesn't work. I might even settle for a new button. Take a look at what 3 horns looks like and imagine how loud its going to be. I am going to blow cars off the road when they get in my path.

hey, I have the same Fiamm setup, but with two red plastic trumpets. I am waiting to see where you find to fit the trumpets under the fairing. The compressor is easier, it can be three feet away and still work well.

great idea and effort. When you find a spot under the fairing, please post a photo!

I am not working tomorrow. I will be saving you a beer Bubba. I am going to mount it tomorrow and even if I have to weld the bracket to the headlight mount I will get it on there. I just hope that the horn blowing doesn't stop the bike in its tracks.

I seen a 2 trumpet horn setup at Autozone for $31. It comes as a kit. Just in case anyone is interested in their own.
