i've got my vfr '03 two weeks ago and i realised that a pair of crash protectors are necessary. However i'm having drouble finding ones that need no fairing drilling. Does anybody know such kind of protectors?

i did the same thing after i bought mine. apparently, there is currently no viable option for crash protection. i spoke with a dealer who says even buying the drill-thru-fairing ones will trash the tail and still mess up the radiators.

guess we just have to keep the shiny side up...

    Hey BG,
We had a bit of a discussion about these awhile back here (and a very heated one on another VFR board based in the UK)...I'm too lazy to find the thread from you right now, but here's a link to some crash guards that don't require fairing drilling

Hi to you rumblefish, believe me i've studied the hole discution thoroughly. However it has nothing to do with the '03 VFR. I've sent an email to hps about the hole thing but i have no reply yet. I guess vfr-xander is right. Thanx anyway!

Don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but I contacted HPS about those a few months back and at the time they weren't making them for the 02-03 models and had no plans to do so... :-/

R+G racing , or rg-racing have them for Vtec bikes.
The kit includes a new coolant bottle with a hole through it.

I ordered them my self a week ago... in the mean time i had a fall with almost 0 mph and i lost my right mirror and the front brake lever and not a single fairing or tail scratch... yes there is a god! I now hope that i wan't need to test the R&G protectors. As soon as i mount them on i'll send my coments.

Bringing this thread back to life, any updates on the crash protectors? Are you guys who bought it satisfied with the product? Do you have pictures? Any mishaps with them, how did they hold up to a low speed crash?

    Thanks

    Regards,
    Bruckner

I think these are the same one www.EMA-USA.com sells as well, for cheaper than $200. They are at least the same idea.

Yes I thought 200$ was fairly dear for essentially 2 plastic pucks and a slightly modded water tank. I couldn't find the equivalent on the website you provided, but I'll keep looking, thanks for the link!
