Will someone be so kind enough as to help me out?

I've posted this ongoing issue in the Mechanic's section and I seem to be getting nowhere...

Basically, can someone test their 4 pin connector coming from the pulse generator for me?

From yellow pin to white/yellow I'm getting 305.

From Yellow pin to blue/white I'm getting open loop...

I just received a used set from eBay, and the readings on the yellow to blue/white are OL .. the same as what's on my bike now.

FSM calls for between 200-400 ohm range.

    What am I missing here???

    Someone.....please. :confusion:

Going crazy here. I'm now on my third set of pulse generators that I've sourced and they all test OL on the yellow to white/blue pin.

Am I just running across bad units?

if it is a gen 3, then 450 ohms to 550 ohms for that pair of wires

    Thanks for the reply, rjgti.

    It's a '94 gen 4.

I'm getting a correct reading (within 200-400 ohms) on the first test - yellow pin to yellow/white, but getting "OL" when I test the yellow pin to blue/white...

It's extremely frustrating because I'm now on my third set of PG's that fail this "test".

wish someone could test their pins for me to see if they get similar results or not.

This will then tell me if I need to keep sourcing a PG until I find one that works!

    So frustrated with this...

Can't help you with the readings but on my CB I was given a tip to close the air gap to .010 with great results, not sure if it will work on a VFR but worth a try
