Hi all (this was originally put in the mods forum, but I thought it was perhaps as relevant in this forum).

My '94 VFR750 now lacks the fairing, the front headlights and the frame that holds the electrics panel is bent and need replacing. I'm keen to play around a bit and have no particular rush to complete it. This leaves me with two options I think:

1: Buy the standard front end faring including lights and new frame and leave the bike with a FZR kinda look. I can't afford the entire fairing at this stage and have resigned myself to the fact that it won't get back to it's original condition.

2: Buy aftermarket front headlights and indicators and leave the bike completely naked. The problem with this is that the electrics are now exposed and will require covering some how (heat wrapping, moving electrics inside the frame...). This seems to be a cheaper options but a lot more work.

    Questions:

Has anyone done something like this? Any problems, hidden costs?

I would like to do option 2, but the logistics of protecting the electrics seem almost impossible. Any suggestions? Will it actually cost less than option 1?

    Thanks again for any help.

    Cheers, Tom.
