Does anyone have a Corbin 2 up seat laying around for a 86/87 700f/750. I am also intersted in whether or not there was ever hard touring bags & mounting brackets designed for this bike & if so where might I find them. I purchased this bike as a mechanically sound but cosmetically challenged commuter last year. I have since collected the needed parts to to bring it back to its former glory but have been slow to install as I'm riding it all the time. I almost sold it last week @ a loss to buy a goldwing w/ electrical issues but the guy backed out due to lack of funds. So I have decided to start tinkering with the viffer & make it into what I want( something I pack my stuff on and disappear for days on end ). As a person of larger stature the only issue I have w/ the bike is the distance between the seat & the foot pegs, my knees feel like they are ready to blow out after an hour of riding & I have to change positions often to remain @ some state of comfort. Buying a differnent bike isn't an opition yet(six kids @ home, hence the need to disappear every now & then) & even though I appear to belong on a slow fat cruiser I've always had a love affair w/ sport bikes. So if any one has made brackets to lower the pegs a bit I could use some guidance. Thanks for any help.

    Hi tbones,

I don't know if there were any hardbags made for that year or not. Do you know what the letter after the VF750 is (i.e Fd, FE, etc.)?

You can go to this page on Ventura-bike.com. They have a VF750 FD, FE listed but no pics. These are soft bags and packs, but from some of the pics these don't appear to take away from the looks of the bike and the installation appears to be slim and not bulky looking. Look at SilverVFR's pics of his 04 here.

In 86' as far as I know the 700/750F's had round gauges w/ seperate speedo & tach/temp gauge. The F2's had the square automotive style gauges; that is the only difference other than color most F2's where all white or blue & gray

I'm home now, went out & looked @ the vin tag all it says is vfr700f, but after doing a little digging I would have to assume it is a FG
