I"ve tried both. Corbin is hard and takes time to break in then it's pretty nice but still on the hard side for me. Sargent is softer but not too soft I prefer it. Both are way better the stock especially on long rides. I have the sargent on more then one bike always good.

Corbin- long story short- I bought one for my fiances Honda PC 800 and it wouldn't fit and was damaged forcing the install. The worst customer service I ever experienced and echoed by several others who wrote Motorcycle Consumer News after I did. I bought the Sargent for my VFR and have high praises for everything- speed of delivery, quality, ease of install and fabulous comfort and riding position. I also recommend getting the optional quick release pins for the seat cowl as I hardly ever use the pillion and it gives me a good size and easily accessible trunk.

Sargeant, no contest. Corbin has gone bankrupt 3 times that I know of and like some have mentioned has some of the worst customer service know to modern man.

I've ridden on both and the Sargeant is far and away the better choice. My Wife's 89 Honda Hawk had a Corbin on it when we bought it. She refuses to ride on it. We're sending the stock seat to Sargeant to get recovered. I have the World Sport Seat on my VFR and there are no complaints from me or my ass.

    KC-10 FE out...

I've heard similar stories about Corbin, but i have to say my experience with them has been just the opposite. I did buy mine back in '96, so a lot may have changed since then. But I can tell you that the anchor "tongue" on the bottom of the saddle broke off back in 2001, so I called customer service to see what could be done. They sent me a prepaid shipping label - no questions asked, redid the entire underside of the saddle, and had it back to me in about 5 weeks. All at no charge.
It's been a great saddle as well - especially since I got the removable back rest that my wife loved so much.
    Hope this helps....

I had a corbin on my last bike and I didn't like it much. It was older and not a VFR so I can't really compare the VFR seat, but I have a Sargent on my VFR and I wont ever put the stock seat back on. I like it quite a bit. I don't recall my butt falling asleep yet. ;)
