Guy's I was thinking of getting the gunfighter seat as my son rides with me all the time. On line the back rest doesn't look like it would be real strong? Any thoughs?

how big is your son? Maybe you can call them and get a weight limit/estimate?

If the shaft is hollow, I would say you are correct, otherwise, i'd say rock it!

I just put the gunfighter on my 2007 this week with the back rest. My wife rode with me yesterday and we had no problems. The rod that holds the back rest is about 3/4 square steel. The seat is heavier than the stock as it has built in the holding system for the back rest. No riding for us today as the weather is moving in with the wind. Time to catch up on the to-do-list.

I have a Corbin Gunfighter on my 03 VFR with the backrest. The rod on the backrest is solid. It has a square shape and you slide that right into your seat where there is also a square hole. You then tighten up one screw and install the seat on the bike. Make sure the screw is tight, and you will have no problems. It is very solid. I have had a 150lbs passenger on the back and there were no complaints, they really liked having the backrest.

They're pretty sturdy. Just keep it on 2 wheels and you shouldn't have a problem:thumbsup:

Never in use (yet), but looks strong and solid to me.
