So when and where was the coolest sounding Honda V4 that you have heard?
Mine was in 1990 at Mid-Ohio. Fat Freddie Spencer was on one of his comebacks again, and before he retired with wrist problems I had a chance to see him in "Thunder Valley". The 360 degree crank in his RC30 made it sound lazy. His bike moaned instead of shreiked, but he was moving soo much faster than the sound warranted. It stood out in the crowd, which at an AMA superbike race is saying something. That sums up the V4 Honda for me, different, and faster than you think.

a few months ago I got a 2bros. When I was changing it I couldn't help but start it without any can... wow

It only took me 5 minutes to get the old one off... three days to put the new one on... and that was after my neighbor helped (cussed me out for being too loud).

In 1998, I was cornerworking at Loudon when Miguel was racing the RVF750 (also the weekend he crashed hard). I have never heard such a nasty-sweet sound as when they were warming up that bike prior to him going out for practice. I thought that was an HRC bike, but maybe it was a Smokin' Joe's.

The coolest sound of any VFR I ever heard is the one I'm on. It changes every time I get on another one and crack the throttle.

I was going to say the only reason you guys say yours sounds best is because you haven't heard mine!, but Jay has heard mine and doesn't want to admit it sounds better than his ;)

Hey! Where's the choice for Supertrapp (80's)? I tried to ride my 1000F at Laguna years ago and, it being a non race day and Db limit of 92, they deemed it too loud. I would stay out of the throttle until after T5 (where the sound meter was) and they said they could hear me (from start/finish) all the way through T9 where I would back out of it again. Well, it was fun while it lasted! Later I did get to ride there on a real race bike during AMA events. Very fun track.

I don't know about the rest of the country but it's been proven on all PNW rides that 5G's with staintunes sound better than 4G's.

Don't worry too much about that quote Gary, If you listen real close after the Mist video you can hear Jay say, Rick you're going to have to slow down because I can't keep up, as the tears was running down his face I almost felt sorry for him because he knew the changing of the guard was slowly taking place. :pound:

 ^ All to funny everyone knows the 4thG 750 with it's inboard cam gears with carbs, in addition to a Staintune sounds way better than the pitchy-tinnie-snorkel sounding 5thG IF800 with outboard cam gears any day. all thou the Staintune helps, and does sound better the the 6thG, don't even get me started with the vtec version . LOL

And as far as tears go. I was just feeling sorry for ya..as it'll be the only time you'll be in front of me.

The tears are from laughing so hard at the statement that a 5g could ever sound as good as a 4g, even a stock 4g.

i think the 98 with the D&D slipon is the the best sounding and with a 16t front sprocket the low end jump is great.57,000 and it still runs like new
