coolant temp gauge not working

    my coolant temp gauge is not working 98% of the time i have replaced the gauge cluster (i had an extra one laying around) and i put a new ECT sensor in and still haveing issues i was wondering if any of you guys have had this problem on a 5th gen vfr and is so what was it. thank you

    Sender, gauge, loose wire, or very low coolant level ?

    FSM shows testing proceedure.

    found the problem. wire was rubbing on the back of the instrument cluster and wore through the wire on the cluster here are some pics
