Hello all, I am new to the VFR World. I recently purchased a 2003 and am looking to install bar risers, either the Heli or Convertibars. I was looking to see if there were any photos of the Heli and Convertibars. Also wondering which seem better. I am a bit of an older rider and was looking to get a more upright riding position.

Theres pictures of the heli-bars on google, and sites that sell them like sporttour.com I have heard really good things about the heli-bars. As far as the convertibars go, they might have the capability to create some issues with the stock cables and hoses. Also check out the LSL superbike bar conversion kits, they actually run a tubular handlebar instead of clip-ons. Welcome to the site, make sure you get into your profile settings and put your bike info in there so it shows up on all your posts. It'l avoid future confusion.

Thanks for the info, I am kinda leaning towards the Helis. I just read that awesome post on See them before you buy them, saw the Helis up close on a 2006.

Have only had my bike for a month and am thinking about the same thing. Converti bar seems to have some up side because there are so many possibilities on adjustment.

Heli bars seem to have a good reputation but the height difference is hard to imagine what it would actually feel like. I just wonder if they move the position enough to be worth the money. Hate to buy them and it not be enough.

Like the idea of the superbike bar. Lots of choices as far as bars go and the bars themselves are cheap enough to experioment to get the right one. Seem to get into some issues at full lock. Can't find much on them. Basically 2 videos and not really much in the way of pictures. Again, don't want to put out that much and find out there are issues.

The risers only move it 3/4" and that doesn't seem like very much at all. Easiest and cheapest way to do it. I haven't been able to find any pictures of the final product on them.

I wish there was more info out there and pictures to help decide before spending that much.

An even cheaper alternative would be to source genuine Honda bars from another application that uses clip-ons and the same diameter fork tube. I believe the Blackbird would be a good source. An extreme example would be the Goldwing...check out the rise on those clip-ons.

Anyway, the Honda Hawk guys have hashed this topic thoroughly for years...you could hop on over to a Hawk forum and browse some posts to find out some more information. I have a set of higher clip-ons when I was thinking about doing this, and verified they fit, but I can't remember which bike they were from (this was 7 years ago).
