After reading the post from here I've decided to also put on a conti road attack for my '98. I was just curious how much did you guys pay for your tires? I've been shopping and the average price seems to be about $300 for both front and back tires. Does this sound just about right?:unsure::unsure:

I got my road attacks at Ridedirect too, but I paid $239.90...
I just put them on this morning and I'm quite impressed with the ride.

    The correct sizes are 120/70/70 F & 180/55/17 R.
It's all in the owner's manual.

I put my trust in all of yawl's words, I just ordered a set of Road Attacks from RideDirect. The Dunlop 208's I'm using just don't give me a lot of confidence in the front, haven't from the first day.

I'm headed out to N. Carolina in a couple of weeks, and will ride the Gap a few times and I'll let you know what I think of them.

My bike had the Dunlop D204K standard. It sucked large. This tire actually led me to question whether or not the VFR was as good as I thought it was. Considering I wanted a VFR since 1990, that's a pretty bold statement. The D204K is such a shitty tire, I refuse to use Dunlop tires ever again. Honda should be ashamed of itself for using this tire.

When I put the RA's on my bike, I couldn't believe it was the same bike. EVERY measure of handling was approved compared to the stock POS. After 6300 miles on my current set, they are fried. I only have one negative thing to say about these tires & it wasn't until I read another post here on VFRWorld that I even realized the tires did it. As they near the end of their life cycle, the front tire start feathering & squaring. I will say this, the tires have a very abrupt shift from confindence inspiring rubber to spooking you in turns. Considering how I ride & what I do with my VFR, I am happy with 6300 miles.

Since I am going to start track days this year, I am switching to a sportier tire. I ordered my set of Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's last night & they should be here on Tuesday.

I actually didn't mind the 204's that much, the bike was new to me and I didn't get a chance to ride really twisty stuff until I replaced them. I went with the Dunlop 205's and they didn't seem too bad until I replaced them with the BT020's. I loved them from the first day and they made me realize how lousy the Dunlop's were. I got a really good deal on the 208's I have now, but I don't like them at all so away they go. They only have about 6000 miles on them, but I don't want to trust them out in N. Carolina, they just don't inspire confidence. JMO of course.

KC is right if your running OEM tires get rid of them! i had the mz4 i couldn't imagine any tire being worse. burned thru two sets of contis great all around tire even did track day on them. decided to go with cora III this time around about 2500miles later back tire is worn to wear bars:mad:.corsa is grippier than conti held there profile way better i guess thats the advantage of 3 compound tire. corsa profile is more geared for track more tire on edge gota work harder to use all the tire. now that i have a dedicated track bike i think i may go back to RA for VFR i think its one of the best valued tires grippie enough and reasonable mileage.

KC have fun on those new tires!! they inspire great confidence:thumbsup:
