Color of gas cap ring?

Does anyone know the Honda color code or if not the code then what color silver would most closely match the gas cap bolt ring. It is for a gen 8 but I would think other generations might be the same color. Thanks.

 

Accurate Silver is used quite a lot on pieces like that, but that may be a touch darker. Hard to tell. In any case, if you are going to spray the whole ring, it would look great. The benefit is it's also a car color so it can be sourced from a auto parts store in Duplicolor. On that note, stroll the isle, there's a lot of nice silver and grey metallics available to compare.

 

FYI If anyone else has a scratched up gas cap ring, I took Captain 80s advice, took the ring to an auto parts store and I found an almost perfect color match with this stuff: VHT High temperature engine enamel, color SP995 Cast aluminum.

 

unless it's really good paint gas will hurt it. hope this isn't a case of OCD>

 

The can label says "oil and gas resistant" and if it catches on fire, it also says "heat resistant up to 550 deg F".

 

If it catches fire. get off the damned bike. Then call 911.

 

You could always fit a surround to cover the marks, similar to these.
