My first post on here, collected my new VFR yesterday, absolutely love it !

But one minor item I need to sort quick is the heel guards, they are showing wear after just one day !

Can anyone recommend a set of adhesive protectors or decent replacements that don't scuff ?

    Thanks in advance[IMG]

Congrats, nice VFR right there and in the cool color, white, good score But heels guards what? how are your boots? curious as I haven't heard anyone say this before, could be how you plant your feet. It might be easier to fix that vs. different heel guards, just saying. Welcome to the fun world of VFRs, bet you're a happy camper.

Thanks RVFR, you are probably correct and it's more how I'm positioning my feet on the pedals ! I've had this issue on my previous bike too, just didn't expect it look worn after just one day

I have the same problem on my FJR, looks like I took a grinder to it. After a couple of failed attempts to rectify the problem I have had to just accept it for what it is.

Do mean these wings above the pegs?
This is my right side after 13,000 miles, just a slight bright spot on the high point.
When you say scuff, do you mean black marks from your boots? If so, should be able to be remove with a solvent or lighter fluid.

I prefer teeth over rubber *&^%$ it's all in the details. Wonder if those would work on the 5th gen? Thanks Ally for the idea...

Welcome ManxVFR. Make sure and fill out your profile with the bike year and your location. I am curious about your riding history. Do you own other bikes today?

Hi Knight, and thanks for the welcome.

I've just traded in my 2003 SV1000 for the new VFR, my previous (and first) bike was a 2001 VFR.

Was gutted to say to goodbye to both, but loving the new VFR ![IMG][IMG]

    Nice

    Congratulations!

I just signed a contract on a new red one

How is it with body parts, are there some wax/polish on it at delivery?
Is this something I need stressing about?

    Cheers
    Thomas

Nice bike. The newer models in white with those bronze/goldish wheels look very sharp. The black and white bikes of that year are my new favorites. You'll have fun with that!

Curious, did you paint the wheels on your old 5th gen? If so, what brand/color of paint did you use? Looking to change my wheel color and that is pretty close to the 04-06 color.

Yeah I wasn't too keen on the bronze/gold at first but they're growing on me !

The wheels on the 5th gen were like that when I got it, standard as far as I know

Unfortunately I sold the 5th gen a couple of years ago - but still got a good deal on the SV !

It's a 2003 with 10,600 miles so someone's gonna get a cracking bike there - I've had that for 5 years and was time for a change !
