Hey guys, I've had my VFR for a few weeks now but never got on it hard. Well today I take it out and see what she's got. Awesome power and acceleration. But here's my slipping question, when I'm going down the road then throttle hard, the rpm's will climb to about 6500 then it just revs up really fast to about 9000 then just pulls at that rpm till the speed of the bike reaches the rpm I'm at. Now what do I do to fix it? Heavier springs or whole new clutch.

Before replacing hard parts you might want to inspect the clutch fluid in the reservoir chamber looking for spooge that may be blocking the return orifice, which is the tiny port in the bottom of the chamber, sometimes covered by a shiny metal plate. If clogged it will cause the slave cylinder to remain pressurized and result in clutch slippage.

I had a 83 magna that did that, so I know about checking the reservoir.
