Has anyone else had a problem with the clutch slipping to neutral from second.
Sometimes, not always, I will be throttling then the engine whines really high because it has slipped to neutral. Has anyone else experienced this or is this just not very careful shifting on my part? It doesn't make a clunky sound or anything, I just start slowing down and engine revs.
Is there anything I should check?
I just changed oil too, but it was doing that before anyway.

If the bike does it in every gear at high rpms, you need to replace your clutch, it's slipping.

If it's only second gear and does it only when you're hard on the throttle, then your gear dogs are rounded. Fix is to remove the transmission and undercut the gear dogs. If the damage is bad enough, you may need to replace parts.

Many have skipped second gear altogether for years. Other's have parted the bike out. While other's replace the engine.

Mine only gives me trouble when I am sloppy while shifting. Sometimes I am not deliberate enough when going into second and it drops down into N.
