Newbie to motorcycles, I Just bought a used 85 Magna 700CC, the clutch was very loose and could easily be pulled to the grip. The clutch would not engage until the last 1/2 inch. The previous owner said that was this way the last 6 years, all the time he owned it. After about 4 short distance rides the clutch no longer engages. I have put new fluid in and bleed the system with nearly 1/2 a quart more to make sure there was no air in the lines or slave as suggested by a couple of local riders. Looking at the master cylinder when engaging the clutch there is very little "blow back" out the over pressure hole. The bike easliy goes into gear when running on the center stand but stalls immediately and jerks if the tire is on the ground. Any suggestions as to what the next step is to check? PROBLEM FIXED. FOUND AIR HAD BEEN TRAPPED AT THE MASTERCYLINDER/UPPER HOSE END. OLD TIME MOTORCYCLE MECHANIC HELPED BLEED SYSTEM FULLY NOT JUST AT THE BLEEDER VALVE
