Hi guys a question for those with knowledge of the VFR 800 clutch. i have a 2008 model with 3500 klms on it. When changing down through the gears there is first an engine braking effect that is typical of most bikes I think, but after a couple of seconds the initial engine braking noticably decreases in its effect. My question is, is this to do with the a two stage clutch that I have been told this model has?

    Regards.

I would think it is due to the fact that the speed of the engines is reduced along with the slowing of the bike. So if the engine brakes when you let the clutch out, the rpms go up, but as the bike slows down, the revs drop too, reducing the engine braking effect. Also, the higher the rpm is when you let the clutch out when down-shifting also reduces initial engine braking, or at least the abruptness of it. This is called rev-matching.

If I have misspoken, please someone correct me. Thanks.
