Hi everyone, I need a new clutch master for my 1986 VF500F. Can I use the clutch master from other bikes? Other years? Other displacements? There are a lot of cheap used ones on Ebay but they're mostly for other models and years. Can I get a newer one with an adjustable lever? I'm also looking for a repair manual if anyone knows where I can get it! Thanks!
Get an mc from a VF 500 ONLYas thousands are available from junk yards across the USA since 95% of the VF500s ever imported are now scrap, thanks to the Honda poor engineering staff in about 1980 and inept mechanics after. Levers are commonly interchangble between many different mcs.
OP, most of the mid-80s+ Honda MCs will work. The VF500 uses 7/8" handlebars and (I think) a 14mm MC bore. YOu can even get some "brand New" ones off ebay. Also, there are rebuild kits and site glass replacement parts available for these MCs if you need to fix it on the cheap. Here are the Honda models I believe share similar bores, there are more: CB650 VF1000 ST1100 VF500C V400 VF700
