Last spring I had it rebuild the clutch master cylinder, no problems for about a year. A few months ago I noticed a lot of play in the lever. I took a look yesterday and noticed if I let the lever snap back the play is gone. If I release it slowly it comes back. There are no leaks anywhere and no air in the line. Before I start taking apart the master and/or slave cylinder, did anyone have this type of problem? How’d you fix it?

    Thanks,
    Wayne

It sounds like your issue is in the master again and the piston is sticking and not returning with normal operation. But the "snap" of the lever is giving it the help it needs. You're likely going to have to disassemble to investigate.

Did you do the work or a shop?

Is it the lever itself... check bushings for wear, etc. Hopefully as simple as that.

It worked fine for a little while. I did the work with a rebuild kit I got off eBay. I assumed 20-30 year old rubber from Honda would be dry rotted, let alone 4 times the price.

Was it just a cheap generic kit? If so, that's likely your issue now. Stick to K&L or OEM.
