I'm replacing my clutch with a Barnett clutch kit came with steel plates and friction plates with new springs. My Question.. Is there something I need to know before I open up my crankcase.. Any tips? I use synthetic oil in my bike. I'm not a hard rider on this bike. I don't race it.

SOAK the friction plates in motor oil for about 1/2 hour.........and don't try over-tightening the clutch spring bolts !!!!

The most obvious is don't forget to drain your oil before you remove the case cover.

You should also make sure you have a replacement gasket in hand before you remove the cover. I also find it very handy to keep a camera with you so that you can take pictures and write your own notes of each step for reference when reassembling.
