I am having this intermittant problem where my clock and trip-odometer will sometimes reset as if they have lost power when I start my motorcycle. Anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,
    Mel

Sounds like a bad battery connection or a weak/bad battery.

I guess you just check it with a voltmeter at start-up and see if there is enough juice?

You could watch a voltmeter while cranking. If it drops below 10v, recharge then check again. If it still drops below 10v while cranking (and after cleaning connections), I'd have the batt tested with a load tester or just replace it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll put a voltmeter to it tomorrow at work.

Before you replace the battery, check all the conections, they can cause voltage drop as well.

Also, if you are about do the replace battery route, check the R/R first. It might be fried.
