I bought a RK chain/sprocket kit for my 800 online. It came with a rivet type link. I do not have the tools to install it so I was thinking about buying a clip type link and doing the install myself (save $$). Then I could ride it to the shop to have them install the proper rivet link. My question is: do I need special tools to install a clip link?
You should be able to install the clip style link with a pair of pliers or vice-grips. Getting the rivet style link is the best option. I cannot stress this enough.
