My clutch lever was squeaking so I removed it to clean and lube.
But now the push rod that goes into the master cylinder clicks every time I release the lever.
I can see what's happening. The end of the push rod is slipping in the clutch lever. There in lies the click.
    The clutch works fine.

Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it?

    Thanks y'all

    Vincent

just a guess but probably something has worn there by running dry and now you have lubed it it slips into the worn spot as you release it

When I got new shorty levers, I found the bushing that connects the pushrod was worn (made of brass), that could be it.

Only a thought, but someone put theirs together backward I believe. Might be worth checking. Course as good as my memory is, it could have been the brake lever.

Good suggestion; I'd also add a bit of grease on the end of the rod.

Brass bushing on the pushrod? Hmmm, I'll have to check the schematic cuz mine didn't have one.
Anyone got a schematic I can have?

Norm, that's kind if what I was thinking because the small dab of grease I put on the end of the pushrod is the only thing that changed when I was done.

Thanks all. I appreciate your input.
