My buddy Pez and I made the annual pilgrimage from Brewtown to Rosemont,Illinois to see the IMS Show yesterday. Here are a few pics from the show for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy my friends.

This first pic is for VFourBear. When you walked down the steps into the convention hall this was the first thing you saw. The gal handing out bags looked remarkably like the real Progressive commercial gal. Take your pick Bear.

The very first order of business of the day for me was locating and examining the VFR1200. From the wan and deeply contemplative expression that's on my face in this pic I think it's fairly evident for everyone to see that I was not impressed. Polarizing is the word that comes to mind when describing my thoughts about the bike. On the drive down from Brewtown I was secretly clinging to a slim shred of hope that in the flesh the bike would somehow win me over. It didn't. I was always taught that if you had nothing nice to say, then say nothing and move along. My sincere apologies to those who like it,but this bike simply does not turn my crank.

Parked not twenty feet away from the new VFR1200 was a gloss black '09 6th gen. Man,these gloss Black ones are just friggin cool! It made for easy styling comparisons between the two models. Not sure if that was such a smart move on Honda's part, because from the comments made by the people that I talked to the overwhelming choice as to which was better was the 6th gen. This reporter can honestly report that there were a LOT of people who had a LOT to say crowded around these two VFR's.

Couple of pics of myself and my buddy Pez throwing a leg over the CBR1000RR. We both liked it. The thing is downright tiny by comparison to the VFR1200.

Some info and pics of the Moriwaki MD250H. The bike is positively dinky, tall riders need not apply. To be honest,at 5' 9 3/4" I think I might even be to tall to ride this bike.

And for 02VFRRider,some pics and info on the Moriwaki Moto2 bike the MD600.

This Ducati 1198S has a beautiful brushed Aluminum fuel tank. My buddy Pez is seriously considering buying one of these. I think he's fuggin nuts, but that's just me. LOL. I really hope he does get it though because I'd love to get my grubby little mitts all over it. For anyone who's interested,I believe these bikes were listed at around $21K. I guess that's the going price for 170HP. Now as you know my friends at these bike shows the manufacturers really encourage you to closely examine their products, which includes allowing you to throw a leg over their bikes to get a feel for them. Well my friends it's my sad duty to report to you that it looked like some idiot with a belt buckle the size of Texas jumped onto this particular bike and carelessly left a huge gouge in the back of that pristine fuel tank. I was going to take a close-up pic of it but it just made my stomach turn and I didn't have the heart to take the pic.

Chicago IMS Show sights. Part 2

Allright campers here are the rest of those pics that I promised.
We'll start things out first with a few oddities.
The Honda DN-01. It's kind of a..... well it's sort of like a..... you know it actually might be a.....
Awright I give already Honda. DAMMIT,WTF IS IT? :noidea:
The T-REX. A three-wheeled sort of half car-half bike vehicle. They were listed at around $56K if anyone is interested.
It looked like you could get them in wide variety of colors too. Kinda cool but pricey.
Dunno, looks like it prolly might be a lot of fun for SCCA parking lot racing.

Next up is the Allstate Insurance bike built by David Perewitz. The bike itself is striking, but what really caught my eye were the tires that are used on the bike. I checked, they're 130/60 R23 tires. I can't say that I've ever seen these tires before. The sidewall profile is almost nonexistent, very cool! A modern day board tracker bike would probably look cool with these tires.
The limited edition Fiat Yamaha Rossi Replica. All I can say is this thing is SWEET! :guitar:
Got my race face on. Das right homeys,Doctor Stosh is in da house!
Allright now for all you sharp-eyed trimhounds. Enlarge this pic (ignore the goob sitting on the bike) and check out the two hotties in the upper lefthand corner of this pic. We were walking behind those babes and I can tell you that the boots the brunette was wearing were definitely made for walking. :eyebrows:
Okay now the real thing. Here are a couple shots of Valentino Rossi's M1 and Ben Spies R1 championship winning bikes. Spies R1 actually appeared to me to be shorter in length and lower in height than Rossi's M1,but it appeared to be a bit wider. Spies R1 kinda reminded me of a bulldog. Short, squat, and compact. While Rossi's M1 reminded me more of a greyhound. Long, tall, and slender. These two bikes really are things of beauty campers, and it almost goes without saying that the level of detail on them is absolutely phenomenal.

Check out the front brakes on Rossi's M1. Wonder if they've got these listed anywhere in the new Dennis Kirk or Parts Unlimited catalogs?
    The Doctor's business office.
These pics should give you a sense of just how slender the M1 really is. The thing is literally shaped like a missile.

This next pic is for RVFR. Can you please start another "Where's Scuba's helmet" thread, because I think I might've found it. :pound:
You just gotta admire Rossi's sense of humor.
Here are a few pics from the custom bike show.

I dunno I think this guy has some kind of watch or clock fetish. :clock: The paintwork was spectacular though.
When I saw this I told my buddy Pez "Hey I think I just found a new seat for the Jokermobile"
There was so much Armor-All on the back tire of this Busa that my eyeballs kept sliding off it when I tried to look at it.
The Blue LED lighting on this Gixxer was cool. One of the features of this bike was the tail section. There are plexi-glass cutouts on the top and sides where the LED's can shine through.
Here's a close-up shot of that tail section with the lights turned off.
Allright gentlemen,a little help here. Will somebody please go rattle TOECUTTER's cage and tell him that I have a couple pics of the proper pipe alignment for his Lazer exhaust. Sorry TOE,couldn't resist. I believe this guy's bike was a Kawasaki with an MV Agusta F4 tail section grafted onto it. The tail section pivots up on hinges that are mounted on the custom subframe that he built for his bike. The battery is mounted above and in front of the exhaust pipes. The tail section locks down securely and is released with the ignition key.
Okay I'm just guessing here but from the one fingered salute that the guy is giving in this last pic I think he might also have bought his Lazer exhaust from Foster Rad.
Ever seen one of these campers? It's a billet Confederate Fighter. The placard behind the bike said it'll do 155mph. I gotta admit the stock seat on the new VFR1200 was a lot more comfortable than the one on this bike looks to be.

And last, but certainly not least, for all the trimhounds. There were plenty of pretty girls at the show.:hump:

Looks like a good day in Chicago. Thanks for the great pics Stosh.

I would probably have just spent the whole day hanging out at the Progressive booth until they finally had security escort me out.
