    G'day everyone!

I thought that I'd just introduce myself and above all my new wee bike!
I live in beautiful Valais, Switzerland, near Lake Geneva and the Matterhorn. ;)

Coming from a FZ-1 (FZS 1000 Fazer in Europe), which I totalled in a horror crash last September, I now own a RC36/II.
Just picked her up last week - after 319 days of suffering without any bike. Man, did it feel good to get in the saddle again!!

I was actually looking for thous mainly - FZ-1, Thunderace, SV, XX and stuff like that. But with a very limited budget it was kinda tough to find a descent ride.
Then one day I stumbled across an offer for a VFR 750 F and I fell in love with the looks of the bike right away. What a stunning beauty!
It was offered at a fair price as well, so I took the three hour drive to do a test ride. I really liked the bike from the beginning, I don't have to tell you anything about it, I guess.
So end of the story - I beat the seller down to a ridiculous price and bought it.
It's got only 38'000 km (23'600 miles) and has been getting every service (got all the receipts) and an extra check-up each season. So technically it should be in top condition and so far it seems that way. I put 1000 km on her in the first week!
    Oh and it's a '97 model.

I guess you wanna see photos ;) so here you go:

    PICT0006x.jpg PICT0010x.jpg PICT0011x.jpg

    Now the quiz for you:
Who is able to tell me what this colour scheme is? Anyone seen this before? (It's gorgeous, ain't it?)

    Again, cheers to y'all!
    Laters.

P.S.: As posted here, I'm looking for a GIVI Wingrack mounting kit for my baby!

P.P.S.: Shame on you that you don't have a Swiss flag for the Country cloumn on the left! :hss:

I don't recall ever seeing that exact paint scheme before but your bike.......

.....looks sorta like a cross between the paint scheme used on the RC45.....

.....and the paint scheme used on this VFR400.

Sorry mate, didn't know I'd have to invite everyone personally to the quiz!
    Next time for sure.

But naaahhh, that doesn't look very similar to the scheme of the glorious RVF, does it?
I think you'll need to have another go. :pop2:

Cheers for the Welcome, glad to be here.
And aye, she's a beauty. One of a kind, I'd almost say. ;)

Hi - and welcome to the Forum neighbour.

I live over in Chatel - up in the mountains on the other side of the lake.

Its a shame you did not post up two weeks back, as I would suggested meeting up when the local SAMVA Moto club held its annual three day Burn Mountain Rock Festival.

    IMG_3030.jpg
Maybe next year so put 18-21 July 2013 in your diary, as the event attracted hundreds of bikers from near and far, and in addition to some brilliant bands, there were organised rides, crazy trialsbike demos, stunt jumping and real ale by the bucket load. Suffice to say we had a big contingent from Valais including several VFR riders and someone even turned up on a clone of my 6th Gen.

One thing is certain you have made a rare find, as that colour scheme looks pretty stunning. If its like the 6th Gens if you lift the seat off the official paint code should be on a sticker near the tank.

Meantime, it looks like the vines are doing well this year - so I may have to test some Valais wine next time I am your side of the lake!

PS A while back most of the country flags disappeared during an software upgrade and people had to contact the mods to fix the problem. I suggest you PM the Mods and ask them to find the Swiss flag again - especially on the eve of your national day!

    Welcome aboard.

I agree with Stosh, though. But I guess we're just filthy American pigs. (said in my best French accent).

    Hiya John,
    that's awesome!
Although... you do realise that you're mixing up cantons here? :eyebrows:
On the other side of the lake - from Châtel - that's Vaud. Valais is in your back, so to speak...
And in fact I live in Troistorrents, which is just about a 10 minutes ride from Châtel. Now how ace is that?
Anyway - screw Vaud and the Lavaux, you should still go for the wine from Valais!

As I said, I know what colour scheme it is. :bounce:

    Alright, I shall do that.

    I have a Fossil in fact. :biggrin1:
But I haven't been wearing it for decades, since wrist watches just annoy me...

    @AllBlackPearl.......I fear your RC36/II is in a crisis. He/she seems to be a wannabee CBR......no ?
    RVF ?, VTR ? For sure it's a Honda color-scheme.........I give up....

    Nee, nee, nee.... :tongue1:
No CBR, no RVF, no VTR.

    Think broader.
But aye, it's definitely a Honda colour scheme.

Lucky blighter - its a Mick Doohan special edition. I don't think it was ever sold outside Europe, and only a few were made - and I bet there can't be many left!
