Well I had a dealer check the charging system of my 96 VFR 750 and of course found nothing wrong. Since there was sufficent voltage going back to the battery, he sussested I may have a regulator which may be going bad.

Is this a common problem? The bike only has 23K miles which isn't much for a 10 year old machine. Is replacing my regulator my only choice?

Does anyone know a source for buying a regulator?
How much should I expect to pay?

    Thanks,

    Bikermike

yeah Mike, it seems fairly common at least on here. I have never had the problem on a VFR but it happened on on of my bikes. I don't rememebr which. If you search the forum and how-to's you can probably find some great info about it. It seems like most people reccomended getting the oem instead of an aftermarket r/r.

I got the new improved H one for my 98. Mine went bad at 4500 miles, so don't feel bad. I think an old battery killed it.

you can use bikebandit.com for OEM, but they are straight prices. You can hunt for cheaper. I've heard of peope using servicehonda.com.
