    Just brought myself a 2007 VFR800 with 1000K on the clock. Like new! Even smells new:thumbsup:! Oh it's fantastic to be back on the road again after a 4 yr stint away. I am trying to change my temp setting from Deg F to Deg C. Worked out how to change MPH to KMH, not as easy for the temp setting:frown:. Anyone out there know how to do it. The manual wasn't much help.

    Cheers
    Jim:biggrin:

    As far as I know the US model can not change from F to C. Not sure the European model.:cool::scubalong:

    Take it to the dealership. I believe that they can get it set in deg C for you, but they have to use the diagnostic computer to make the change.

    I have an 07, and I know you cannot change F to C with the button. Pretty sure you do need the stealership to do it for you. Good luck. Ride safe.

    Just do it in your head. F to C is F -32 times 9/5.

    How is it that you can change the speed from miles to kilometers but you can't change the temp from F to C? I didn't realize that. Seems strange.

    Go figure! Made no sense to me as it such a simple calc for a chip and a nightmare head calc. Mind you, don't often need to know the exact temp, when fingers start to stiffen up its too cold and time to get some grip warmers!

    Deg F just makes no sense to me! Water freezes at -32, boils at 212. Thanks for the calc though should be easy to do in my head.

    for round numbers take degrees C,
    double
    add 30

    20C = 20x2 + 30 = 70F
    really its 68....usually close enuf.

    going the other way
    degrees F
    - 30
    half

    80F = 80 -30 = 50/2 = 25C
    its closer to 26.5C

    so like if a degree matters.......

    I see everyone is busy at work solving the important questions, i.e. how can Jim read the right temp on new spanking new (to him anyway) VFR:) Not too critical really and it doesn't effect the enjoyment of being on the road again.
