    Mechanical types....

I changed my clutch earlier.. It was biting and snatching when I was pulling off or slipping the clutch.

Couldn't see anything amiss with the friction or steel plates, there was however witness marks on the posts in the basket that the spring plate bolts to. Like the spring plate was loose and vibrating against the posts.

The springs I took off were tightened down nicely, nothing obviously wrong with how it was fitted. Any ideas how the outer plate could move and vibrate to put ridges in the posts?

Not sure if this answers your question, but the biting and snatching issue is caused by the stock clutch springs being too weak.

I've upgraded to heavy duty springs, along with new steel plates and friction plates. So we'll see how I get on!

My clutch was grabbing near the release point and shipping above 7k. Changed the friction discs and shootings and everything was better. EBC discs and springs. The springs are supposed to be 15% stronger. Works a treat!

Marks on spring posts have been identified as severely worn springs, the springs themselves were vibrating on the posts and wearing them out. HD springs fitted, feels much much better!
