Thanks for the heads-up I just bought this. That's a real deal considering most chain kits start at around $100

It sure looks identical to my Motion Pro except for the color of the box. And the price is sure right.

    light to medium duty?

anyone have experience with this one or the similar motion pro kit? I've heard stories about the grip bars or whatever snapping on inexpensive kits and the pins being complete shit. Any thoughts? I've only used the DID chain tool which is bullet proof but a little clumsy since you need two wrenches to work it.

I went by Cycle Gear today and picked up this kit. It doesn't look cheaply made. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I bought it mainly to press the new rivets. The directions are kinda of sparse, but do recommend ginding the rivet heads on 530 size chain.

If I have to bust out the grinder, I might as well just cut the chain with that lol.

I have the Motion Pro and had no problems pressing out the chain rivets without grinding the heads off. It worked fine, and peening the heads of the new rivet masterlink was also a piece o' cake.

OK so here's the deal..... Do yourself a favor, take a few seconds and grind the rivet heads. If you do the pins push right out slick as snot. If you don't, the pin will be broke shortly. As for the press, it worked great, it mashes the rivets nice. This was my first chain replacement and I learned a few things. (1) this is a good kit for pressing the new chain together and the least expensive kit I could find. (2) don't buy the kit for the breaker, just cut the damn chain off. (3) buy your new chain precut to the correct length.

I bought this Saturday, used it Monday. The directions are sparse but the pictures helped. Mashed the rivets without a hitch. I'd say worth the money.

    my .02:

It's WAY easier than you think to mash the rivets. I was ready to crank on things, and wondering why it was fighting back so hard. It was already done.

Have the motion pro kit, very nice. It's really cake to use these kits.

I was replacing a clip-style master-link with a rivet-style... so didn't need to grind anything, although still needed to press apart the old master. Things were pretty nasty...

I got the motion pro kit and it did 4 chains before I broke a pin. I actually broke the pin working on a very light duty scooter chain. Looks like I should have ponied up the extra dough for one of the DID or Rk ones...

eh, pins will break no matter what kit you have if they aren't centered spot on.

I just bought this kit off ebay after seeing zona man post it. It appears to be a clone of the DID tool but $30 bucks instead of $150. I'll let you guys know how it is when I receive it.
