Chain specs for 1990

Well I've been frustrated trying to figure out what size and number of links are on a stock 1990 VFR750F. Workshop manuals don't seem to think this info is necessary.

I'm hoping I can reuse my old VStrom chain on the VFR but I think it's a 525. It only have 8,000 kms on it so it's still like new. If it works, it'll save me having to get a new chain for the VFR. Plus it'll save me having to sell or dispose of an almost new chain.

I read newer VFRs use I think a 530 chain, hoping the older ones were 525.

The chain on my VFR still looks and works fine but I think it's time to change it. I'm putting new sprockets and chain on the VStrom so its chain will be unused.

 

Stock chain is a 530 sorry to say. 112 links. 50VA = 530

 

A well cared for stock original chain from Honda usually lasts about 20,000 miles b4 it starts getting troublesome......
