Anyone got any plans to make a centerstand turntable or know where I can get one? I saw one called a turn a bike but I can't justify the $200 price tag. Slick unit though especially with all the toys/crap I've got in my garage.

Maybe the base of one of those crawler stools will work? Don't know how stable it would be though.

A turntable would be very convenient. I had an idea in mind for a while, so I decided to try it tonight after reading this thread......

Start with a couple pieces of thin sheet metal that have been lying around for 40 years, this is probably 1/16" thick at the most.

Then drill some holes in the centers, and apply grease between the pieces....

Then put the two pieces together and secure with a bolt
    [IMG]

Result? I shot a video of it but it didn't turn out right so I will have to describe. I put the contraption on a piece of cardboard under the center stand and then put the VFR on the center stand on top of the device.

I was able to turn the VFR around it pretty easily, which was the goal. However, a lot of grease got on the floor, and the swivel action only worked about 1/8 turn, and then the center stand was just spinning on the metal which probably isn't ideal. Ok back to the drawing board....oh wait I didn't use a drawing board oh well. :ninja:

Something I would like to try....if I can find it.... I remember back in the late 70's my parents had this disco swivel thingy I don't know what the heck it was for, but it was like a 1/2" thick 12" diameter lazy suzan type thing that was very sturdy. If I can find that thing somewhere I think that might just be the ticket.....

If you all have a concrete garage floor, I can save everyone here all the trouble & expense. I'm 100% certain everyone here knows what a cookie sheet is. If you don't know what one is, here's a link: SALE Chicago Metallic Gourmetware Non-Stick 17 x 11 Cookie Sheet 26077 at KitchenKapers.com

Put this under the center stand, pop the bike onto the center stand, grab one grip and rear passenger peg & spin away. You have my personal assurance this process works since I do it all the time. It does minimal to no damage to the garage floor. If you actually wear the cookie sheet thru, maybe you're spinning the bike too much?

I'm thinking of putting some wax paper on it before each use. Maybe a pizza pan would work too.......

Problem. My wife confiscated my Slick 50. She was tired of me using it for, on, and in everything (well, almost everything - get your mind out of the gutter and into the sewer where it belongs). Also, she just won't give up one of her cookie sheets. On the plus side, she doesn't ever complain about me going for rides for hours on end. Not a bad trade off.

Not a good idea. I have seen pictures and read stories where the engine case broke where the sidestand mounts.
