Yes, IF the floor you stand the bike up on is level. Almost no garage floors are level.

If you hear a real loud grinding, clunk-clunk noise..... That thing you did, you should have done the other thing.

But you'll be OK. Just remember these things take an odd amount of oil. It's either 3.2 or 3.6 quarts of oil.

Thank you! So you fill the oil until it's between the 2 lines? That's how ive been doing it on my F4 for years but the Service manual for VFR says to fill the oil to the top line? Am I correct?

The two most important things to remember, never go below minimum and never go above maximum. When doing an oil/oil filter change, a new filter will take some of the oil that would normally be in the sump. A method I use for oil changes is to fill up to the max line. Start the bike up, let it run for a few minutes and then shut off the bike and let it settle. The level should go down a little and then I fill back up to the max line. Start it up, let it run turn off and check it. Should go back to max line.

Some might say that removing the centerstand might solve the problem.

That's how I measure my oil.

Love center stands! Get one and you'll wish every bike own has one. I do.
