Was a center stand ever a option on a 91-93? I had heard somewhere that bikes in canada could have a dealer option put on? I am looking to acquire one but want to make sure it is going to even fit.

    Thanks,

As I recall a centerstands on the 91's were an "option" Meaning more bucks. Mine fits fine, It took two of us to install it and never a problem.

    centerstand

I added a centerstand to my '93. The brackets and everything were already in place and it was a straight bolt-up situation.
To make it easier to deal with the springs, put pennies in the coils during installation and take them out when you're done.

    Cheers!

Yep, your bike is ready to go. Good stuff on the use of coins we used washers and lots of colorful language.

There are several places on the net where the frame and perches are shown. Factory manuals are good things to have at hand.

Don't know about the pictures, but you just slide pennies, or washers, in between the spring coils, effectively stretching the spring, which makes installation much easier (or even possible). They'll fall out the first time you use it.

Centerstands on 91's were an option as were seat cowls.

The service manual for 90-93 VFR's is in PDF and downloads in just minutes. It's a freebies. The frame is made to accept the centerstand.

The coins a/o the washers are used as spacers. The spring is one badass spring.

When I got my '96 the centerstand was off. I put it on with the bike on the sidestand; only took a few minutes to do. Dunno if yours will work the same way.

My 93 has a center stand. When I put it on the lift it blocks it from coming down. Like Slothrop stated above try to do it while its on the side stand. Or get someone to hold the bike up right while you install it.

i just got my 93 a few months ago, the center stand wont fit on it because of the TBR exhaust system on it, but the seller gave it too me along with the other stock parts. if your interested i might sell it.

Page 221 of the service manual shows the centerstand.

These were options as were the hard to find seat cowls. Like many of the instructions in a service manual there is no step by step instruction on installing or removing a centerstand.
