I am happy with my 05 VFR and I am selling my old 2k VFR, my 04 R1 and found a stablemate for my 05 VFR. I saw the CB 1000R with the single sided swingarm and feel in love. Any thoughts?

Kinda way off here but how 'bout a VTR RC51 ? I always wanted to have a HRC bike. RC30's & RC45's are too hard to find & too expensive...

I like the CB500x but the single-sided swingarm on the CB1000 got me hooked. This past summer I was not able to ride my 04 R1 due to illness - the bike has less than 10k mi. I was almost finished the upgrades on the R1 before I got sick and had planned on doing some trackdays on it. I may be able to sell my R1 to one of my Motorcycle Club brothers so I will be able to get a ride on it sometimes and use that money to get the CB1000R. I am getting ready to retire and I want to have the CB1000R as a daily ride and for twisty runs. I wanna use my VFR for touring. I want to have the suspension done on my VFR - get an Ohlins or Penske shock, progressive springs, dyno tuned, and get some Givi saddlebags on the VFR. My plans are to get to some rallies next season and finally go to Sturgis.

Those are great bikes and I like them, but I am planning on getting back to touring, so the CB1000R will be my daily ride and my VFR will be setup for touring and rallies.

I am not rich so I will have to sell my R1, my 2k VFR and my 03 Yamaha 600R. I should be able to sell those bikes for approx a lil over $8k, and add $3k cash to get the CB1000R.

Seeing as you also seem a bit of a Yamaha man, what about that new MT-08 (don't know if thats right) No SSSA but otherwise another option.

I like the R1 better than the CBR but the VFR is still my favorite bike. The CB1000 with the single sided swingarm reminds me of a naked VFR. Thanks for the suggestion tho. I like Yamaha crusiers better than Honda crusiers also lol.

I like the CB1000R but I think the Kawasaki Z1000 is a lot more bike for the same money.

A guy on my other board bought one. He said it's not superbike fast, but it's un-holy-hell fast up top for a super naked.

I read that review and it made me think I'd really like to ride them to see if that vibration is really that bad. I have found that we have a tendency to pick nits with new bikes because we have been so spoiled. Any time I start thinking about all the little complaints I have about my bikes, I think back to the 70s and what people rode. Then I think we have it pretty good. :)
