Carb service specialist

With over 30 years experience working on carbs from exotic sportscars, racecars to bikes, and having owned many VFRs ( and lots of other bikes mostly from the 80s and 90s) over the past 24 years, i feel i'm well qualified to offer carb cleaning and rebuild service to members here.

My service includes careful inspection, ultrasonic cleaning of jets, replacement of any parts found unservicable, blow-out with high pressure filtered air, setting float levels, remove mixture screw seals, precision assembly, bench tests to verify operation, and visual synchronization. Jet kits can be installed also.

Much INexperienced carb cleaning needs to be done again....and again because it takes lots of experience to do the job right the first time, every time.

I aim for about 2-3 week turnaround time, and winter is the best season for me.

My plan is to have a fully cleaned and ROAD-TESTED set of '94-'97 carbs available on an exchange basis for immediate shipment. Also '86/'87 700/750

Put them in a box and ship. ( I'm willing to help you over the phone to remove and replace.)

BTW, the IRS said they don't have a tax id number on record for your business and the local business licensing authority in your area said the same thing.........

 

How would someone be able to go about setting the float level when the carb doesent have gasoline in it? How do you know where the fuel level is supposed to be?

answer: float height determines fuel level but they're different things; floats are set without fuel.

and i have a fuel tank above my workbench for carb testing purposes.

 

i see how the float works, I just do not know at what specific level the fuel is supposed to be at.

Different carb designs would have the level at different heights or depth or whatever. I know how to measure it. but measuring something doesent help if you do not know at what measurment to set. it

 

Send your carbs to SMan. I don't mean to be a dick, but you really need outside assistance at this point. After the last couple of months, this whole carb thing doesn't appear to be your forte. It is also readily apparent that you are not in this boat by yourself.

 

Ill figure it out eventually. Iv got all winter long.

Its either one of 3 problems now. either i didnt get them clean enough. there isent enough gas in them. or there isent enough suction.

now that i figured out about the coil the problem is much much much much more specific and easyier to read.

having multiple problems combining symptoms really made it hard to pinpoint the exact problem.
