AGAIN! The weather had the wife's viffer parked for the last few weeks and fired it up today. And, just as it did at the beginning of the season, it dummed a puddle of fuel all over the floor of the shop. I pulled and cleaned the carbs last spring for the same problem and appeared to be a float sticking and it ran well all summer after. Now I'm back to this. I ran some Sea Foam in the tank and ran it a bit and its still dumping gas. Any ideas? Am I looking at rebuild & where to I find a rebuild kit for a gen 3?

Negative on breaks or cracks. been dumping out the overflow. I was able to lift the tank while it ran and take a look.

Are you talking about the overflow pipe from the tank? or the carbs?

Cause I had a similar prob with mine from the tank

    VFRH:

What fixed it before (cleaning the carb) might very well fix it again. With the bilge that passes for gas these days some carbs (such as the one on my little John Deere) are incredibly susceptible to precipitating crud out of the fuel. It both blocks up carb passages and also settles on the float, making it sink causing mixture/overflow issues. If the bike had been sitting for a few weeks and had gone a few weeks before that since refueling that might be your problem. Gas over one to two months old is seriously suspect these days.
I've had excellent results preventing this using Stabil religiously anytime there has been a chance of extended intervals between use.

    Best of luck

PS: Seriously nice job on the restoration and paint!

Mark, yep, out the carbs. mestoo: you may be right. I know this old girl aint all that "new" anymore, but I gotta agree with you that gas today goes to crap quick. <sigh> Everytime I have to pull V4 carbs I remeber why I like working on my old CB750.
