I didn't know these canyons were close to my house until I randomly met a dude riding an R1 and he took me and showed the roads around my pad. Dang!!!!!

This looks like it was above Castaic Lake? I used to ride these roads all the time when I lived in the SF Valley. We used to go up through Little Tujunga Canyon to Sand Canyon then over to Bouquet Canyon, up to Elizabeth Lake road, over to Lake Hughes Road back to the 5 FWY, then back home to the Valley. Before I officially got my M1 license, a learner's permit only allowed surface streets, no freeway driving. I used to get to and from Acton and Santa Clarita using some of these roads. The fun one was starting up Little Tujunga and then heading through Soledad Canton to Angeles Forrest Highway to Upper Big Tujunga to Highway 2, back home to the Valley via La Canada/Flintridge down La Tuna Canyon.
