    Help Guys!
So I have an 86 VF500f. I replaced the valves on the front cylinders and I cant seem to get the cam alignment right. I have a Clymer manual but its fairly cryptic.

Once I put the whole thing back together, I seems to be getting good compression, and the bike is running but not very well. There is a loud clacking noise coming from the front cylinders.

This is what I do. I line up the T1 mark on the alternator rotor/starter cover. This is the TDC for the rear no 1 cylinder. Then, I align the cam sprocket markings with the top of the cylinder wall.

If anyone can help me out it would be so much appreciated!

Did you ever figure out how to get this fixed?

I have the same problem. I over-reved the bike and my valve bent so I replaced the valve and tried to time the bike acording to the marks. I got the rear cylinders timed but the front one's don't time.

    If you have any ideas.
